Yon Choi-Gomes ’97MLS(ASCP), M.A.Ed.

Yon Choi-Gomes joined St. John’s University in the Summer of 2022 as an Assistant Professor/Industry Professional and Clinical Coordinator in the Department of Clinical Health Professions, in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Prior to Joining St. John’s, she served as a Clinical Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor at Flushing Hospital Medical Center and an adjunct instructor of Clinical Chemistry in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program at St. John’s.

Prof. Choi-Gomes has been a licensed and certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist for 25 years. She earned a B.S. degree in Medical Technology from St. John’s University and a M.A. degree in Education with a specialization in Higher Education from the University of Arizona. Her research interests are in improvements of specificities and sensitivities of viral antibody detection.
